Tiger was the steer I had my last year in 4-H. I won Grand Champion with him at the county fair. It was a nice way to end. I bought him cheap in the fall. I picked him out because he was cheap and cute. I always thought he was decent, but I never imagined he would turn out as good as he did. In the spring he just got better and better. He ended up being very sweet. He was extremely lazy, but very nice. Eating was his favorite thing to do. I took him to the State Fair where he got two blue ribbons. I sold him there in the carcass class. He made me good money, but I cried very hard. He was probably my most favorite animal. Tiger loved puppies and he would let my dog Lucy jump on top of him while he was laying down. That's me and my puppy Minnie in the photo.

Reggie was a cool dude. He pretended to be stupid but he was actually very clever. I bought him. I liked him because he was cute and hairy. He always was a hairy little bugger. I showed him when he was a calf and when he was older. At the county fair and he should have done better than he did. I did win Grand Champion Senior Showman with him, though. His final show was at the National Cattle Congress. I just remember how stupid he acted. Reggie will best be remembered for eating whole ears of corn.
Duncan was the tamest calf I ever had. From the moment he was born he thought he was a human. I showed him at the county fair with his mother. I loved to sit in the barn and lay down with him and he would lay his head on my lap. He was so sweet. We even lead him in a parade with a hat tied on his head. He won a prize for most comical. Duncan's life with me was short however, because he would never make a good showcalf because something was wrong with his legs. We sold him in the fall when he was a calf.

Acie was a very nice steer and one of the best I ever had. We raised him and I showed him at the Cattle Congress when he was a calf. There he got third place which was extremely good. Acie was very nice and sweet and well behaved. At the county fair he didn't do as well as hoped, but I did win Junior Showmanship with him. His final show was at the State Fair where he got a blue ribbon. I sold him there in the carcass class.
Rodell was the first steer I ever showed. He was extremely cute. I remember
when we were halter breaking him he reared up and I thought he was hopeless. He ended up being the best behaved calf I ever had. He was so sweet. Here was I, this little 10 year old girl, and he was this 1200 pound steer, but he never did anything to harm me. He was my buddy. I showed him at the county fair and he got first place. I got second in showmanship with him and nearly beat my brother. Rodell was one cool calf.
Rodell and me at the fair
Despite the fact that Cher nearly killed me, she remains one of my favorites. She is a cow that I still have today. I showed her at the Cattle Congress as a calf. She was always very tame at home, but around strange people and places she went crazy. At the county fair something scared her and she ran over me. I had many bumps and bruises and have a scar on my shoulder to remember her by. I wasn't mad at her though. I still try and pet her everyday.

Stephanie was the first animal I ever showed. I showed her at the Cattle Congress as a calf. She acted pretty good. I don't know why I didn't show her at the county fair as a heifer. Every year she had a cute mousy gray colored calf. I did show her at the fair with one of those calves. Stephanie was around for about 5 or 6 years then I had to sell her because she had bad feet.
My first show
So those are some of the cattle I have shown. This list may grow.
